ANTIQUE GEORGIAN ROSE CUT DIAMONDS SILVER CHANDELIER DROP EARRINGS

These are a find for sure! Diamond chandelier earrings that were created during the Georgian era which was from 1714-1830 during the reign of King George. The artistry during this period was truly unique. The diamonds are rose cut and have a closed back foiled setting -- foil was added to the backs of diamonds then to make them sparkle more. The diamonds are set in silver and the backing is gold. They have gold French ear wires that have an O at the back to keep the earrings in place and they close in the front -- although the clasp is quite hidden.
These earrings measure 2" from the top to the bottom and 5/8" at their widest point. The top which is part of the ear wire has one larger diamond in the middle of 8 surrounding diamonds. The triangle shape has 16 diamonds going around 2, one larger (top) and one smaller (bottom) diamonds that dangle in the middle of the triangle and 3 diamonds that dangle at the bottom of each triangle points -- 30 diamonds in each earring for a total of 60 diamonds! Total weight is 10 grams.
